Shawn Ryan is the Executive Producer, and co-creator, of CBS' The Unit.

Ryan started out writing on Nash Bridges, and Angel, before getting his break when he created and executive produced the FX Original Series The Shield, which, in 2003, yielded a Golden Globe for Best Drama Series. It also had many Emmy Nominations.
Following the show's cancellation he created the series Last Resort.
Personal Life[]
He earned a joint degree in Economics and Theatre from Middlebury College, where he started writing plays. He lives in LA with wife, actress Cathy Cahlin Ryan, and their two children.
